as he's such a phony SOB, but Beck's lack of professionalism rears its ugly head again and CNN will do nothing...unless folks bury them with email.

That is exactly why we have to contest having him committed, insist that his advertisers pay his bills, leave a spare television tuned to his show so Big Brother thinks that he is popular.
Its like having Goebbels screaming on open air speakers -- in German.

Glenn Beck is a horrible spokesperson for his positions, and if he is on CNN giving the rich asshole wing of the Republican Party a bad name, I say that is great.
I think Huckabee's positions on the issues are wack, but the reason he pisses off the asshole wing is that he's not one of them. People who view government as a means to improve the lives of people and not as a means to enrich themselves and their friends and acquire power have no attraction to them. Romney exactly looks and speaks like one of the asshole guys on Desperate Housewives; he is smarmy as hell and looks OK on the outside with a fairly good-looking wife but has walk-in closet after walk-in closet full of skeletons in his McMansion. As Barney Frank said about Romney:
"The real Romney is clearly an extraordinarily ambitious man with no perceivable political principle whatsover. He is the most intellectually dishonest human being in the history of politics.”

But the only candidate they had that was 100% conservative was Ron Paul. And they booted him for not subscribing to the neocon school of thought.
It also helps that Paul's honesty about what CONservatism stands for made him completely unelectable.

he was appalled that somebody would bring up Romneys faith, when he had demanded to know of a Democratic Congressman why we should trust him becuase he is a muslim. He is a sick piece of work.
by Daveinsf on Wed Feb 06, 2008 at 05:40:23 PM PDT
just how "Mormon" Beck is. Yes, he's a member. But is he a (literal) card-carrying Mormon?--in other words, can he go into a Mormon temple? One of the requirements is to pass a two-tiered interview every two years, and one of the questions is "Are you honest in your dealings with your fellow man?"
Can't have it both ways: Either Beck lied to be a "card-carrying Mormon," or he answered the question truthfully (however ironic that may be) and isn't quite the Mormon he is supposed to be. Or perhaps his celebrity status has his local leaders (who conduct the "temple worthiness" interviews) completely buffaloed.
This guy's an embarrassment, and I haven't been card-carrying (or even to church, for that matter) in well over a decade.

It's great to see these folks imploding. I do believe their "coalition of the willing" is beginning to break up a bit. It's too bad Cheney's not running, I think all the nutters could agree on him. They'd lose very, very badly, but at least they'd have peace amongst themselves for a while.

I am picturing a couple of "Fascinating Womanhood"types, flouncie dresses, coiffed hair, well worn bibles under their arms, knocking on Beck's door at midnight:
"Jerry sent us down here to 'talk' to you Glenn. Can we step inside for a cup of tea?" (the silent one suddenly smacks him upside the head with her weighty Good Book, drawing blood from his left temple as he crumples to the floor).
Oh dear, Delores, you didn't need to be so persuasive. I'm sure Mr. Beck was willing to listen to us," as she absentmindedly places one of her high-heels on Glenn's groin and leans heavily on it.
"Uunnhh!" goes Beck.
"Now let's go in have a nice cup of tea, shall we? We don't want Delores to be forced to stomp her feet and toss her curly locks, do we?"

Our local wingnut station doesn't carry Beck, but we are graced with Hannity, Boortz, and Levin. In the wee hours of the morning, some idiot named Greg Knapp provides solace to the wingnuts who presumably lie awake at night in fear of "Islamofascists" and gay weddings.
Best I can figure, this station must serve as a tax writeoff for the wingnut owner, because there are only about half a dozen sponsors getting ad time.
